Classroom robotics safety guide

Safety

All Roadrunner project use requires adult supervision, school approval, age-appropriate tools, and project-specific safety review.

Buddy the Biped

Use a safe demo perimeter. Review moving parts, pinch points, secure fasteners, servo calibration, battery/power rules, and emergency stop procedures.

Pico Lightsaber

Frame as an electronics display project only. Review bright LED exposure, battery/power rules, tool safety, no-striking/no-combat policy, and supervised use.

Magic Map

Use simulated, fictional, or teacher-controlled coordinates only. Do not use as student tracking. Avoid precise student location data and follow school privacy policy.

General classroom requirements

  • Adult supervision is required for tools, batteries, wiring, moving parts, and public demos.
  • Use PPE and tool procedures appropriate to the school, age group, and project.
  • Confirm kit contents, replacement parts, storage, charging, and cleanup before classroom use.
  • Keep student privacy and consent requirements separate from public marketing or public forms.
  • Do not use student names, photos, or project files publicly without documented permission.

This safety page is a launch baseline. Final project safety sheets should be reviewed before classroom deployment.
